The laboratory of Jean-Ju L. Chung, PhD, in the Department of Cellular & Molecular Physiology at Yale School of Medicine is seeking postdoctoral candidates in reproductive immunology research in the areas of sperm physiology and fertilization studies.
Research Interest.The major focus of the lab is to understand cellular signaling via membrane receptors and ion channels in sperm physiology and fertilization under normal and pathophysiological conditions. For this position, there is a particular focus on reproductive immunity and evaluating new contraceptives that we develop in collaboration with a protein engineering laboratory.
Minimum Qualification. Self-driven and highly motivated PhD (or PhD candidate) with an inquisitive nature and a quantitative mind, a working understanding of basic techniques in immunology and biochemistry, and a record of productive research with at least one peer-reviewed 1st author publication during PhD.
Preferred Qualification. Ideal candidates would have a strong background on immunology, virology, or reproductive biology or a strong interest in discovering antibody candidates for developing novel contraceptives and experience in mice handling, breeding, genotyping, immune response analysis.
